Creating a Taxonomy of Environmental Narrative for Video Game Design

My Honours research was an exploration of environmental narrative and how it is used in level design.

The project included extensive research and classification of the techniques used by level designers, and collecting examples for each technique. I also developed 3 original projects in UDK to practice these techniques.


In 2015 my exegesis was cited in the book The Game Narrative Toolbox, published by the Focal Press. You can download the exegesis below.
